Diane runs for the school board. Principle Dante supports her despite Wayne blowing up Dante's car by accidentally discharging the Cloud Buster into it. Intent on correcting his error, Wayne uses the Time Hopper to go back an hour, but ends up going back to the year AD 930. He is mistaken as Odin, principle god in Norse mythology. Nick pulls his dad back to the present, carrying three barbarians with him. They assist in Diane's campaign by handling the enemy (her opposition) of Diane in their own fashion.

Who can forget the hit Tight Pants by The Sweater Vests? Wayne hears 1, 2, 3 Be Mine by the Bopkas on Poptime in the sixties that he remembers forever -- which was never on Poptime and the group never existed. When a marathon Poptime is announced, his family tries to keep him from it so he wont be crushed. He uses the Time Hopper to go to the sixties and prove they existed. Wayne is snatched and interrogated by a Soviet spy. His family comes to save him, dressed in sixties clothing. As an added bonus, how the great Chicago fire really started in Mrs. O'Leary's Barn and how Arthur became King of Britain are explained. Wayne and Diane became engaged during a solar eclipse and every solar eclipse is spent together as a family. Wayne creates glasses to watch solar eclipse. Turns out, they see a few seconds into the future, starting with Jake falling off a ladder. From that point on, it is debatable if Wayne is preventing or causing incidents. They decide to get rid of the glasses and the glasses keep finding their way back. Nick takes a long and boring tour of Stantons Peppy Plaz business. Then the bus has a flat. His chance of meeting his family for the eclipse is improbable. Diane defends a dog accused of stealing a car. Diane expected the case to be dismissed, but it is not and she may be in court instead of with her family for the eclipse. Amy expects to get out of her math class, but looses her to be excused note. She searches for it and ends up in detention instead of with her family enjoying the eclipse. Invention of the week: Eclipse Illuminators.

Diane is one dinner away from becoming a partner in her law firm. So far, no one has passed the dinner at home test. Diane knows dinner at her house is a recipe for disaster. As Wayne attempts to fix his Time Hopper, the house starts drifting through time and space. He expects to have it fixed prior to the dinner. Amy, who cant cook, does. The Time Hopper fix isnt. The guests arrive. Dianes boss, Colonel Colhman, is ex-military and all his conversation centers on it. During dinner the house is transported to another time and place. The Colonel realizes that they are on another planet, in a dangerous situation, and takes command. And underlining theme is the Colonel and his wife remember why they married. Their arrival back in time disrupts the natural order of events that will make Kris Kringle, Santa, forcing the duo into a desperate race to set things right so that the world will have its Santa Claus.
