Two families compete over the course of a week in various rural skills of the past. Made by the team behind the Victorian Farm documentary series, in the same location (Acton Scott Estate in Shropshire), though the experts from that series aren't involved in this one. 20 Episodes -- Jul 5, 2010 through Jul 30th 2010 (weekdays) Each day there are three challenges - one for the mums (generally on domestic skills such as cooking and crafts), one for the dads (usually farming-related), and one for the children (which could be anything; the first week's tasks ranged from mucking out pigs to an archery competition). Fridays are a little different as there are five tasks, all on a theme, and the family members compete in different combinations. The family who win the most challenges each day get a prize, but these are quite token in nature, generally some produce, or products, from the estate. And when it's food, it tends to get shared out between them all anyway. Some time in the 21st century, Kovarick, said to be the most evil man who ever lived, is met by a resistance force. One of their members, Dr. Bahler, invents a time distorter held within a ring, which he uses to go back to ancient Egypt, where he dies. 75 years before he left, the ring is found by scientists, who are killed by a small mafia group, but not before it is thrown to a bum, who pawns it for fifty cents. An obnoxious gentleman, Steve, then buys it to give to Jill, a local actress he has fallen for, but does not reciprocate. The mob boss attends her performance to get the ring back, and when he threatens to kill her, an interjection creates a paddageway to the middle ages, and she and her airy friend Kirsten go through. In the middle ages, their princess costumes make everyone mistake them for fleeing princesses who had been forced to marry ogre-like men for acquisition of land. Eventually, they escape the pursuing mob to the old west, where Wild-Eyed Cody and his men have come to loot the town, confronted by a loony sheriff and "Calamity" Jill, refusing to wear townlady's clothes and instead claiming to be a cousin to "Calamity" Jane. The distorter is set to return to its point of origin, so after trouble strikes again, Jill unknowingly repeats the interjection, and returns to Kovarick's future, again with Kirsten and still pursued by the mob, who side with Kovarick. The resistance force realizes there is not enough power left in the ring to allow their plan to work without forcing Jill and Kirsten to stay in the future, so the two decide to help in whatever way they can before returning...

Jimmy, a young boy trying to gain acceptance from his peers, is horrified when he sees a circus trainer abusing a bear cub. One of the circus employees tells Jimmy that there is a magic cave in the hills nearby that can transport people to another time, and that maybe he can use it to help the bear. Jimmy does some exploring, finds the cave, and is amazed to find himself transported back to the early 1800's where he encounters Jeremiah, a nature-loving mountain man with a bear friend of his own. Jeremiah agrees to come to the future and help out Jimmy, but the 21st century is quite different from the 19th, and springing the bear cub will not be as easy as Jeremiah thinks. Not in any way related to the "Grizzly Adams" television series.

Eureka is Poe's attempt at explaining the universe, using his general proposition "Because Nothing was, therefore All Things are". In it, Poe discusses man's relationship to God and the universe or, as he offers at the beginning: "I design to speak of the Physical, Metaphysical and Mathematical _ of the Material and Spiritual Universe: of its Essence, its Origin, its Creation, its Present Condition and its Destiny". In keeping with this design, Poe concludes "that space and duration are one" and that matter and spirit are made of the same essence. Poe suggests that people have a natural tendency to believe in themselves as infinite with nothing greater than their soulsuch thoughts stem from man's residual feelings from when each shared an original identity with God. Ultimately individual consciousnesses will collapse back into a similar single mass, a "final ingathering" where the "myriads of individual Intelligences become blended". Likewise, Poe saw the universe itself as infinitely expanding and collapsing like a divine heartbeat which constantly rejuvenates itself, also implying a sort of deathlessness. In fact, because the soul is a part of this constant throbbing, after dying, all people, in essence, become God.
