Two scientists show the professor how they can send a cube back in time, but they are unable to bring it back. The professor refuses to aid them, saying playing with time is potentially catastrophic. They ignore him and continue, finally becoming able to return the cube. They send it back with a camera to prehistoric times and as it arrives, it strikes down a reptile who was about to become the first creature to stand upright. The cube returns and the two scientists-- now giant reptiles-- are pleased to see history has not been altered. Notes: Retelling of "The Scientists" from Astonishing#9. Cover art by Steve Ditko. Those Who Change; Scientists view the ancient past, but though they don't realize it they reshape history causing humans to evolve from reptiles. Suddenly, the criminal is back in 1961 and arrested by the police; he learns Professor Storm died in 1946 and thus never created a time machine - the criminal defeated himself through a temporal paradox. This series was great while it lasted, but it was short-lived because Stan admitted he couldn't come up with twist-ending stories fast enough to meet the grinding monthly publishing deadlines.
