Description:  We go behind-the scenes to find out how an ordinary terraced house in the shadow of the Millennium Dome was transformed into a time machine and why the Bowlers were selected ÒAll traces of the 20th centuryÓ are removed from an old house in Greenwich, England, and a family is selected to live in it in Part 1 of this four-part documentary. But the people who are retrofitting this Òtime machineÓ (as social historian Daru Rooke calls it) have some difficulty finding a 19th-century stove to go into the house. As for the family, the soon-to-be-mistress of the 1900 House, 44-year-old Joyce Bowler, is apprehensive.
