Still clumsy with agricultural equipment, a banker turned farmer runs over a bloody corpse. It's identified as brilliant college-boy Garcia, who was determined to become the first time-traveler. His haughty, self-absorbed airhead girlfriend Courtney Johnson broke up recently, viciously jealous of his treasured vintage car, fixed at big brother Alex's auto shop, where employee Sidney Jouron has a second job as drug pusher. Garcia also collaborated with physics professor Hunter, who was dismissed after a serious electrocution incident. A second corpse is found, at first sight Garcia 20 years older. The new apprentice Dr. Oliver Wells, who holds several degrees, immediately bonds with Hodgings over daring experiments but also impresses Bones enough to make her admit being too shortsighted for scientific progress.
